Soil Health = Gut Health

A healthy soil can lead to nutrient rich food, which supports a balanced gut microbiome. Just like our gut needs diverse microbes, soil needs diverse organisms to thrive. When our soil is alive, so are we. Processed foods often come from depleted soils. With a healthy soil, plants have more minerals and vitamins. This provides better nutrition for the gut.  Monocropping and chemical heavy farming can reduce soil diversity. A less diverse soil will lead to fewer beneficial microbes that can be transferred into the food we eat. Compost, organic farming, and regenerative agriculture restore soil.  This is why its better to choose organic or regeneratively farmed produce when possible.  Eating whole, minimally processed foods restore the gut.
